Argentina And Messi On Top Of The World

Hello football fans.

This is a special edition of On The Pitch.

I'll be reviewing the World Cup and more.

First, though, I have two headlines to share,

Fernando Santos has stepped down as Portugal's manager.

Real Madrid have signed Endrick.

Despite all the controversy surrounding the World Cup tournament, it ended with a bang.

The final, Argentina versus France, was epic.

It was the Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbeppe show.

Argentina was ahead 2-0 at halftime.

France, however, rallied back with two goals by Mbeppe in the second half.

In extra time, Messi scored what seemed to be the winning goal.

France, however, was awarded a penalty.

Mbeppe converted the penalty, completing the hat-trick.

Argentina ended up winning 4-2 in penalty kicks.

Messi scored two goals.

2022 World Cup Champions, Argentina.

Lionel Messi finally wins the cup.

Now that the tournament is over, there is a two questions going into the new year.

England Fails Again

Yet again, England failed to bring the cup home.

England lost to France 2-1 in the quarter finals.

I was convinced that it was the end of the road for England's manager, Gareth Southgate.

It turns out it is not.

Southgate is going to continue on as manager.

What Does The Future Hold For Ronaldo?

Now that the World Cup is over, where is Cristiano Ronaldo going to play?

As you all know, he and Manchester United parted ways just before the World Cup began.

Who knows where Ronaldo ends up.

Cristiano Ronaldo

The new year is going to get interesting.
