What A Year For Man. City

2019 F.A. Cup winners

There was no shortage of news this week in football.

Quite a few items to get to.

Here we go.

First off, it has been a really good year for Manchester City.

A week ago, the club won the English Premier League title.

This past weekend, Man. City defeated Watford 6-0 in the F.A. Cup final.

Unfortunately, Manchester City is losing their captain.

After 11 seasons with the club, Vincent Kompany announced this week that he is not returning to Manchester City next year.

Kompany won 10 trophies with the club.

 2019 Bundesliga Champions

Bayern Munich is this year's Bundesliga Champions.

Julian Brandt

Thorgan Hazard

Sticking with the Bundesliga, Dortmund signed two players this week.

Dortmund signed Julian Brandt and Thorgan Hazard.

Thorgan is the younger brother of Chelsea's Eden Hazard.

Toni Kroos has signed a contract extension with Real Madrid until 2023.

Finally, good news for PSG fans.

Kylian Mbeppe is not leaving PSG.

Manchester City wins title.

The English Premier League is over for another year.

The 2018/19 season ended this past Sunday, (May 12).

Manchester City won their second straight Premier League title.

Liverpool finishes second, Chelsea finished third, and Tottenham finished fourth.

That malee PSG's Neymar had with that fan at the Coupe De France final cost him three games.

Barcelona has announced that Luis Suarez is out for four to six weeks after undergoing knee surgery.

Luis Suarez

Bayern Munich played to a 0-0 draw against RB Liepzig this past weekend.

That meant that Dortmund was still in the hunt for a Bundesliga title with a win over Dusseldorf and that's exactly what happened.

Dortmund got a huge 3-2 win.  The team's chances of winning the title are still alive.

Mbeppe's Season's Over. Man. City Is A Step Away From Winning Their Second Title

Kylian Mbeppe's season is over.

That red card Kylain Mbeppe got in the Coupe De France final cost him the rest of the season.

That's right, PSG star footballer, Mbeppe, got a three game suspension for that reckless tackle in extra time.

Without Mbeppe, PSG played to a 1-1 draw against Nice.

Nothing seems to be going right for Bundesliga's Dortmund lately.

At the beginning of the season, Dortmund was in first place.

With a few losses within the last month, Dortmund is second.

Going ahead against Bremen in last weekend's match 2-0, Dortmund had a chance to get three big points.

Unfortunately, Bremen scored two goals and Dortmund had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Chelsea got three big points on the week with a huge 3-0 victory over Watford.

All three goals were scored in the second half.

Chelsea has secured a place in the Champions League next year.

Liverpool defeated Newcastle 3-2.

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to stay in the English Premier League title race as Manchester City defeated Leicester City 1-0.

Man. City is a win away of winning their second straight EPL title.

(Top) Kylian Mbeppe (left) Neymar (right).

I'm a day late with this entry because I was celebrating my birthday yesterday.

My sincere apologies.

Anyway, the big news in international football this week was Rennais upsetting PSG in the Coupe De France final on Saturday, (April 27).

Rennais defeated PSG 3-2 in penalty kicks.

PSG's Kylian Mbeppe didn't participated in the penalty kick shoot out because he was red carded near the end of regulation time.

Neymar scored two goals for PSG in the final.

Unfortunately, Neymar also punched a fan in the crowd after the match.

There were more red cards handed out in the Schalke/Dortmund match this past weekend.

Dortmund's Marco Reus and Wolf were red carded.

Schalke upset Dortmund 4-2.

Schalke's  Caligari had a goal and an assist in the match.
