Things Took An Ugly Turn In Der Klassikeir

Hello football fans.

Things got interesting in Germany on Saturday, but first, the headlines.

Leipzig sacked their manager, Jesse Marsch this week.

Der Klassiker

This year's Der Klassiker wasn't exactly a classic.

The first half of the match was exciting with both Dortmund and Bayern Munich going end to end without incident.

The second half, however, things took a ugly turn.

Dortmund's Julian Brant suffered a head injury colliding with a Bayern player and was carried off by a stretcher.

Then, with the game tied 2-2, Bayern was awarded a penalty.

As a result, Bayern's star, Robert Lewandowski scored on the penalty, which eventually gave his team the 3-2 victory.

Dortmund's manager, Marco Rose, was livid with the call and confronted the referee.

For his effort, Rose was red carded and sent off in the 76th minute.

Bundesliga

Union Berlin defeated Leipzig 2-1 in a rather entertaining match.

Freiburg trounced Gladbach 6-0.

La Liga

Real Madrid defeated Real Sociedad 2-0.

Ligue 1

This week, I caught some French league action.

Bordeaux and Lyon played to a 2-2 draw.

UEFA Champions League

Real Madrid defeated Inter Milan 2-0.

Inter's Nicolo Barella was sent off in the second for punching Real Madrid's Eder Militao in the leg.

Finally, Bayern Munich defeated Barcelona 3-0.

Barcelona has been eliminated from the Champions League.

That's all I have for today.

Stay safe, stay healthy.
